Your class content stays on your Mac
In the current Mac app, audio and transcripts exist only on your computer in LecMate’s local SQLite-backed data store. PELPULSE’s backend stores no audio, transcripts, translations, or notes.
Privacy Policy
This draft explains what the current Mac app processes and the principles that will apply if we add mobile services later.
Translation and note processing
When you request a translation or notes, LecMate sends classroom text—not audio—through the ASKSANTA gateway to an AI provider. The text is used only to complete your request, is not used for model training, and is not retained as content by the gateway or provider.
Account and service metadata
Our backend processes the service metadata needed to run LecMate: account details, plan and quota state, metering totals, and billing or payment references. This metadata does not include your class content.
Speech-model downloads
LecMate downloads speech models as anonymous static files from its model-download service. These download requests do not include personal data or class content.
If a mobile version is offered
A future mobile version would use an encrypted cloud pipeline with zero content retention. This is a forward-looking privacy rule, not a launch-date promise.
If corpus sharing is offered
Sharing class content to improve language resources would be an explicit, per-item, paid opt-in. It would be off by default, and content would never be uploaded silently.
